Erciyes University (ERÜ) Faculty of Veterinary Medicine started education in 1995. The Department of Biometrics
was established in 1995 under the Department of Animal Science and Animal Nutrition, and the first lecturer and
head of the department, Assoc. Dr. Aytaç AKÇAY. As of 2021 in our department, the head of the department, Dr.
Elif ÇELİK and Research Assistant Güven GÜNGÖR is on duty. In our department, Biostatistics courses are given
primarily to the students of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, to the students of the Health Sciences Institute
and other faculties and colleges of our university. In addition, Biostatistics education is given within the scope of
Master’s and Doctorate Programs.
In our department, apart from educational activities, biostatistical consultancy services are provided to researchers
both within the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of Erciyes University, outside the faculty or outside the university.
