In our department; In addition to our textbooks for student education, there is a rich histopathological image ar-
chive where microscopic images are transferred to the internet, a macroscopic specimens archive, a room that can
make projections with contemporary methods for student education, where all kinds of clinicopathological presen-
tations. For student practical training, there is a practical training room where the student can perform microscopic
examination at the same time.
Until 2021, 52 SCI publications, 35 BAP and 6 TUBITAK projects have been completed in the department. Pa-
thology Department hosted 1 national congress.

The Department of Aquatic Animal Diseases started its activities in the fields of education, training, research and
routine analysis with the appointment of Dr. İzzet Burçin SATICIOĞLU in 2012. Then, Associate Professor Em-
rah ŞİMŞEK, Prof. Dr. Erdal YILMAZ, Asist. Prof. Fatih Doğan KOCA were appointed to the Department.
Aquatic animal diseases, aquaculture and ecology courses are given by the department in undergraduate education.
There is no graduate program in our department.
Conventional and molecular diagnosis of parasitic and bacterial diseases of aquatic animals is carried out in the
aquatic animal diseases laboratory, which is licensed by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry.
In addition, the academic staff of the department conducts conventional and molecular studies on parasitic and bacterial
diseases in aquatic animals, biological synthesis of nanomaterials and their potential biological applications (incubator,
microscope with fluorescent attachment, stereo microscope, block heater, PCR Cabinet, ultrapure water device, thermal
cycler, horizontal electrophoresis, autoclave, desktop cooled centrifuge, UV and chemiluminescence imaging system).
