MESSAGE FROM THE RECTOR

Erciyes University, which is a state university with a 44-year history, has 52,534 students and provides service with
19 faculties, 7 graduate schools, 1 school, 2 vocational schools and 42 research centers. It also employs 2,250 aca-
demic staff members and 4,795 administrative staff members. In addition, in this historical process of almost half
a century, it has rapidly passed very important stages of development thanks to the great support of the benefactors
in Kayseri and has brought its institutional development to the highest level today. Currently, the development of
Erciyes University has been approved by the Higher Education Quality Council (HEQC) with the “FULL AC-
CREDITATION” certificate in the University Institutional Accreditation Ranking, which was carried out for the
first time in Turkey. Thus, our university managed to become one of the first three State Universities to have the
University Institutional Full Accreditation in Turkey and reached the Top Level Stage of Development.

Erciyes University is a Research University that succeeded in being included in the “Research Universities Rank-
ing”, initiated by the Council of Higher Education in 2017. Furthermore, our University ranked 8 with 48.65

points in the A2 Category (Universities with High Level Research Performance) in the “Research Universities
Ranking”, which was held by the Council of Higher Education on December 13th, 2021. The goal of Erciyes
University for the future rankings is to be included in the A1 Category (Universities with Top Level Research
Performance).

Erciyes University also achieved to rank 12th among the universities in Turkey and 7th among state univer-
sities in the World University Rankings. Although this situation seems to be a success for our university, our
main goal is to enter the top 500 universities.
