PREFACE

Dear Readers,
Completing the twenty-fifth year of its education, the preparation of a book about the development of our faculty
from past to present started with the decision of the Faculty Administrative Board dated 07.06.2021/021/061.
In the preparation of the book; Erciyes University Rectorate’s editorial office, Veterinary Faculty, Health Sciences
Institute, Kayseri Research and Application Center archives and many books, magazines and newspapers were
used. Information and documents were shared with the administrators, lecturers, administrative staff, graduate
students and external stakeholders who worked in the establishment, development and management of the faculty.
We would like to thank those who contributed to the preparation of this book, which is the result of intense and
devoted work. We believe that you will follow the traces of our story of change with every page of the book.

As members of Erciyes University Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, we are happy and proud to celebrate the twen-
ty-fifth year of starting education and training. Today, our faculty, which has successfully completed national and
international accreditation processes, and provides advanced education; It has a very modern equipment with its
education building, laboratories and animal hospital. The leading and preferred faculty at the national level pro-
vides the best service to the human and animal health of the country by training competent and researcher veteri-
narians with modern education principles.

I am very honored and proud to take part in every stage of the establishment and development process of the fac-
ulty. Thanks to our founding rector Prof. Dr. Mehmet Şahin and our dean Prof. Dr Abdullah İnci. We would like
to express our gratitude to all our rectors and deans, especially Nejat Aydın, and to our hardworking and devoted
faculty members, administrative staff and students who have overcome all kinds of troubles and difficulties in their
development stages.
