Department of Surgery

(About Department)

Vision

Health services are provided for approximately 2,000 sick animals per year in the clinics of the Department of Surgery within the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine. All kinds of care and treatment services are provided for cats, dogs, sheep and goat, cattle breeding, poultry and wild animals brought to the clinic with a surgical problem and sick animals brought from a distance are also treated. Diagnostic support is given to the physicians of private practice in small and large sick animals especially with visual diagnostic methods.

Mission

Surgical services are provided for small animals (pets), large animals (horses), farm animals (cattle, sheep, goats, calves) and poultry. The department deals with the medical, conservative and surgical treatments of the surgical diseases of animals. Veterinary Surgical Department serves especially in the treatment of traumatic lesions of the skeletal system such as fractures and dislocations, in the first aid of sick animals, in all kinds of accidents and injuries directly. Anesthesia and various imaging opportunities are utilized for the implementation of these services.
