(VUÇEP-2021),” prepared on the basis of the Turkish Higher Education Qualifications Framework (TYYÇ),
which was put forward through the Bologna process, constitutes the main source.
Since the establishment of our faculty, different regulations, directives and principles have been used. The new edu-
cation and training plan adopted by our faculty in 2021 has been prepared by taking into account the VUCEP-2021
and EAEVE standards. Our new training plan is Term and Module based, in accordance with EAEVE standards,
and consists of 2415 hours of theory and 3170 hours of practice, for a total of 5585 hours of lectures, and 300
ECTS. Those who graduate from Veterinary Faculties by completing their education are given the title of “Veteri-
nary Surgeon” in accordance with Law No. 6343 and Article 43/B of Law No. 2880.
So far, a total of 1961 students (500 females, 1461 males) have been registered in our faculty, and 1053 (212 fe-
males, 841 male) of them have graduated as Veterinarians. Currently, the number of registered students in our Fac-
ulty is 560 (207 females, 353 males). According to the Higher Education Institutions Examination (YKS) results,
the preferability of our faculty has developed positively every year. With the YKS preferences of 2021, students were
enrolled in our faculty with a numerical score of 417.46 in the first 30,201 ranking.
On the other hand, various departments of our faculty perform with 18 programs in the Graduate School of Health
Sciences for Master’s and doctorates. To date, a total of 378 graduate degrees, 316 of which are post graduates and
62 are doctorates, have been given. Currently, there are 372 registered postgraduate students in the programs. In
addition to these, 15 doctorates in five departments of our faculty continue their studies with YÖK 100/2000
doctoral scholarships. Two scholars who completed their doctorate from this program graduated in 2021. One of
them had the opportunity to continue his academic life as a Lecturer.
Academic staffs and students in our faculty participate in international exchange activities within the scope of
ERASMUS programs. To date, 26 people have had mutual mobility. Of these, 8 (3 academicians and 5 students)
came to our Faculty from different countries, and 18 (4 academicians and 14 students) went abroad. It is predicted
that the current ERASMUS mobility will increase in the coming years depending on the EAEVE accreditation of
our Faculty.
Our Faculty was given the authority and responsibility to conduct the “Scientific Identity Exam” by YÖK in 2017.
In this context, the “Diploma Equivalency Commission” was established with the participation of the department
heads. This commission conducts the “Scientific Identity Exams” by examining the diplomas and attached docu-
ments of the candidates who apply to YÖK for diploma equivalency and by following the necessary procedures.
To date, a total of 127 applications have been received by the commission. Necessary actions were taken according
to the reports of the commission. ERU Faculty of Veterinary Medicine has a scientific journal called “Journal of
the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine”, which started its publication life in 2004. Our journal is viewed by Web of
Science (https://mjl.clarivate.com/search-results) and EBSCO (https://search.ebscohost.com/direct.asp?db=asn&-
