12.7. Erciyes University Vectors and Vector-Transmitted Diseases
Practice and Research Center (ERVEK)
The establishment of Vectors and Vector-Transmitted Diseases Practice and Research Center affiliated to the Er-
ciyes University Rectorate was published in the Official Gazette dated 20.12.2009 and numbered 27438. As of
22.11.2011, Prof. Dr. Abdullah INCI was appointed. As of 29.11.2011, he was appointed as the deputy director
of the center. Dr. Aykut ÖZDARENDELI was appointed. The board members of this center, which is the first and
only in its field in Turkey, are Prof. from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Alparslan YILDIRIM, Faculty of
Medicine Prof. Dr. Mehmet DOĞANAY from the Faculty of Science, Prof. Dr. Aydın TUNÇBİLEK, from the
Faculty of Agriculture, Prof. Dr. Ramazan CANHİLAL and Prof. from the Faculty of Pharmacy. Dr. It is composed
of Ibrahim NARIN. The Center works in cooperation with the faculty members of Bingöl University, Kafkas Uni-
versity, Uludağ University, Mustafa Kemal University and Fırat University. Multidisciplinary Business Packages
were created at the Center.
In Turkey, the “Vectors and Vector-Transmitted Diseases Application and Research Center”, which was first estab-
lished within the body of Erciyes University, is a multidisciplinary team of Veterinary, Medicine, Science, Pharmacy
and Agriculture Faculties in the determination of regional and Turkey-wide problems in this field and in the pro-
duction of projects for their solutions. works in coordination with their contributions.
ERVEK is a research and practice center established to create the scientific infrastructure against vectors and vec-
tor-borne diseases that threaten human, animal and plant health.
