10. STUDENT ACTIVITIES

10.1. Society for the History and Science of Veterinary Medicine (Vet-Bil)

Veterinary History and Science Society (Vet-Bil) was established on 08.11.2013 under the supervision of Assoc.
Prof. Dr. Çağrı Çağlar SİNMEZ and under the presidency of Berat DENİZ.

The aim of the Vet-Bil Society: To ensure the orientation of the students of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine to
medicine, to contribute to the economic, cultural, social and ethical understanding of the students’ past, to provide
students with professional awareness and identity, to provide students with the ability to think scientifically and to
give them the habit of retrospective thinking.

The fields of activity of the Group are: To organize or contribute to magazines, brochures, conferences, seminars,
congresses, panels, etc. on history, culture and scientific subjects, to prepare and carry out training and projects
aimed at providing students with a love of history and especially the awareness of history of veterinary medicine, to
carry out programs and activities such as technical and touristic trips etc. that will strengthen the professional unity
and solidarity of students, to increase their knowledge and skills in history and culture.

The Group has been chaired by Berat DENİZ, Emre CANBULAT, Batuhan ŞAHİN, Alperen ÖZDEMİR and
Abdullah KAYA (ongoing) respectively.
Since the day it was founded, the Society for the History and Science of Veterinary Medicine (Vet-Bil) has carried
out a total of four VetEBA National Student Congresses, Positivity News Bulletin, various trips, career days and
conferences and many scientific and social activities for ERÜVF students and academic staff.

10.1.1. VetEBA Congresses
VetEBA was founded in 2016 by the students of the History and Science of Veterinary Medicine (Vet-Bil) Society
under the supervision of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Çağrı Çağlar SİNMEZ under the presidency of Serkan KÖKKAYA and
VetEBA has been chaired over the years; Serkan KÖKKAYA (2016-2018), Batuhan ŞAHİN (2018-2019) and
Ahmet YILDIZ (2019-2022).

VetEBA; In order to bring our country’s livestock to higher levels, it aims to benefit from experienced people in the
important issues of our profession by being aware of the duties and responsibilities of veterinarians and acting in
unity and solidarity. For this purpose, 4 national congresses, online seminars, unity and fusion days, zoo trips and
horse farm organizations were organized.
